Hispanic Heritage month is September 15 - October 15.
Tell us about a famous Hispanic. What is his/her area of expertise (music, film, sports,politics etc.)? What are his/her most notable accomplishments?
Miguel de Cervantes was a famous writer from Spain. He wrote the book called Don Quijote. Don Quijote is a story about a man who went on crazy adventures and it is up to the reader to decide if he has gone mad or if he is just ill. He had a side kick, Sancho Panza, who isn't too bright. The two of them always get into trouble. In one adventure, Don Quijote thought that an inn was a castle and he asked the owner to dub him a knight and Sancho Panza became his squire. Together, they went on adventures to do knightly things like finding a maiden and fighting off giants (which are really windmills!).

George Lopez who is a Mexican and was born in California. He is a comedian and also an actor. He contributed to the Latino community, helped with fund raiser for earthquake in El Salvador.
ReplyDeleteChristina Aguilera, who is Ecuadorian and white, is a singer/actress. She is known for hit singles like "Genie in a bottle", and "What a girl Wants". She started out a a Disney star, but soon came into her own. She's won three grammys, and she still continues to sing and act.

His nickname is "The Golden Boy" and he has fought in a total of 45 fights. he has won 39, has had 30 K.O's and 6 losses. He has retired at the age of 39 but will remembered for his 6 world titles in 6 different weight classes.
ReplyDeleteEva Longoria is a famous actress. She is american/mexican. She was born on July 24th, 1970 in Corpus, Christi, Texas. Eva entered a talent contest which took her to Los Angeles. It wasnt easy for her though. She had to go through much hard work before she receieved a starring role in the TV series, "Desperate Housewives". Now, Eva is playing in many other TV series.
ReplyDeleteSelena Gomez is a famous Disney actress and musician. She is widely known as the main character on Wizards of Wizardly Place. She has done several movies that aren't in ties with Disney, such as Monte Carlo and Another Cinderella Story. She has won several awards for music and acting.
ReplyDeleteChristine Marie Flores, also known as Christina Millian, was born on September 26, 1981 to Cuban parents. She is a singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer, model, and an actress. She produced her first major US hit "Dip it Low" in 2004. Her first lead role was in 2003 in a l=film called " Love Don't Cost Thing". She became famous in 1996 and is currently still active.
ReplyDeleteAlbert pujols is a professional baseball player. He was born in santo damingo, dominican republic. He is the best all around baseball player in the MLB and is also very generous. He donates money every year to the stand up to cancer fund and started his own charity to help autistic children.

She had a small part in the film "My Little Girl" in 1987. She was chosen to be a background dancer for various rap videos. And in 1993 she became a background dancer for Janet Jackson.
ReplyDeleteCelia Cruz was a Cuban-American Salsa singer, known as the "Queen of Salsa". She was born on October 21, 1925 in Havana, Cuba. In the 20th century she was a very successful Salsa performer.The reason being was because she earned 23 gold albums. She was the second child on fourteen children. Celia Cruz passed July 16, 2003.
