Día de los muertos

  • How do you feel about the way death is viewed during this celebration? Do you agree or disagree?
  • How do you feel about the idea of visiting your loved ones’ graves once a year and spending time with them?
  • Would you celebrate this holiday given the opportunity? Why or why not?

Remember: Your post is due by Friday, November 11th at 7:30AM (it's a day off!!).

  1. I feel that death is viewed during this celebration is done in a different and kind of werid way , I disagree with the way that it is done. I feel that visiting my loved ones grave is a good thing too do but, not only once a year I think you should be aloud to visit my loved ones grave when I want too. I would not celebrate this holiday because I dont believe someone dieing is something to celebrate or have a party for it.

  2. Dia de los muertos is celebrated very differently. I agree with some of the things they do to celebrate Day of the Dead, but I also disagree with the way they do some things. I understand and agree with the fact that they prepare food in honor for the dead. However, I disagree with the fact that they leave the food sitting out for days. I agree with the fact that they go visit their loved ones graves. I disagree with the fact that they dance on their graves. In my eyes, that's disrespectful to the dead. I also don't agree with the fact that they only visit once a year. I feel as if they shouldn't limited to the amount of times they get to visit their deceased family and friends. They should visit more than once a year.

  3. I think death is viewed as happines and another way of life. I sort of agree and disagree with that view. I agree with the viewing of the loved one's grave because i do that myself. yes because i do believe there is a life after death. (heaven)

  4. I do agree with it because you get to cherish moments with loves that may not have seen in a while. Or may not have seen ever and all family join together and celebrate great moments they' ve had. I Like it because knowing there spirit isnt dead your trying to keep it alive and powerful for families to celebrate a lost loved one. I would celebrate this holiday because I can keep my hopes high that I can come to the grave and talk to the loved one that I have lost and tell them how I have been doing in life. getting that off my chest towards them because I feel as though I can cant get off to any other family memeber
