Hispanic Heritage Month 10A

Hispanic Heritage month is September 15 - October 15.

Tell us about a famous Hispanic. What is his/her area of expertise (music, film, sports, politics etc.)? What are his/her most notable accomplishments?

Miguel de Cervantes was a famous writer from Spain. He wrote the book called Don Quijote. Don Quijote is a story about a man who went on crazy adventures and it is up to the reader to decide if he has gone mad or if he is just ill. He had a side kick, Sancho Panza, who isn't too bright. The two of them always get into trouble. In one adventure, Don Quijote thought that an inn was a castle and he asked the owner to dub him a knight and Sancho Panza became his squire. Together, they went on adventures to do knightly things like finding a maiden and fighting off giants (which are really windmills!).
